Weary but happy
Be ready. Some are feeling the spicy food. Some are feeling the stomach virus that a couple of kiddos brought along for the ride. Some did not use hand sanitizer or sink and soap as directed. Some have a combo.
Many are feeling great but weary. Thank you, friends and family for following our adventure. We made many friends.

Another Beautiful Day
We have a calm morning. Expecting wind later. The 8th grade here has volunteered to serve us lunch today. Tonight is the traditional Cochiti meal. The mountains and light are stunning. We had pancakes for breakfast-a real hit.

Getting Ready for Science Morning.
We're preparing to hike, observe, and sketch. We're visiting a fish hatchery, crossing into pueblo land with a guide.
We had a delicious breakfast.

Great Time
We've been busy. Today, one group worked with the cochiti students weeding, digging a trench and preparing the ground for the chicken coop. Before, the two schools had lunch together. Afterward, we had a blast playing dodgeball. Other groups hiked on the dam and engaged in a study of leadership styles.
We have more than a few mosquito bites and lots of prickly stabs by the rampant goat head stickers. We haven't seen even one tarantula yet.
Tonight, the girls are looking forward to showers. Tomorrow night, the boys have their turn.
The stars are stunning out here. We send our love.

Busses in Las Vegas
Trips are adventures! One bus has a flat tire. Both busses waiting in Las Vegas, NM for dispatch to send repair. Everyone is well, though ready to arrive.
The prep team is waiting, with one member catching a nap.
Advanced crew on site
Mr. McVie, Coach Lemon and Mrs. Ashley spent Sunday night at Cochiti elementary. We're getting ready to set up the cook area after a chilly morning breakfast.

Welcome
Welcome to the St. Mary's Academy's Eighth-Grade Cochiti Blog!
Here is where you will find updates during our service and leadership trip scheduled for October 7-11. The updates will most likely be in text form rather than in photos due to the less than vibrant connection.
Don't fret because many photos will be taken by the chaperones during the trip and posted later on a smug mug account.
